The luxe hotel in Malaysia is the top choice among those who need to travel for work
It is tiring to travel for business — which is why returning to a luxurious and centrally located hotel for the night goes a long way in making the trip more comfortable.
Located in Kuala Lumpur’s Klang Valley, New World Petaling Jaya Hotel fits the bill. It opened in January.
Says its general manager Jai Kishan: “Our focus is to establish the hotel as the first choice for business travellers visiting the Klang Valley, especially from Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya.”
Petaling Jaya has experienced rapid growth through the years — evident in the improved infrastructure, and burgeoning number of residential developments and multinational corporations that have set up offices. These make the city an attractive option to travellers.
Positioned as Klang Valley’s “gateway and getaway”, the favourably located hotel is the first upscale one in Kelana Jaya, and the first hotel from the Rosewood Hotel Group in Malaysia.
It is situated within the Paradigm integrated commercial development, which comprises Paradigm Mall Petaling Jaya, corporate tower The Ascent, and The Azure Residences, a serviced apartment.
A 45-minute drive from Kuala Lumpur International Airport, New World Petaling Jaya Hotel is accessible via three major highways. It is also near the Kelana Jaya and Glenmarie Light Rail Transit (LRT) stations.
“It is the perfect venue to unwind in style with professional associates or friends,” adds Mr Kishan.
Thoughtful use of space
Traditional Malaysian touches in the hotel’s décor add a calming, homely touch.
Apart from a 6m-high wau (a traditional Malaysian kite) gracing the lobby, the hotel’s 3m-high sculptures of gasing (a traditional Malaysian spinning top) and other curated local artworks are sure to impress guests.
Event facilities include a standalone 1,700 sq m grand ballroom with its own entrance that can accommodate up to 1,000 guests in its pillarless hall.
Bespoke menus allow guests to have food done just the way they like for their events.
There are also eight meeting rooms that can accommodate up to a total of 300 guests.
Each meeting room is designed with guests’ business needs in mind, such as floor-to-ceiling windows that let in abundant natural light and equipped with functional reflective dimmers. Classic imprints of the wau on the walls give off a local flavour.
Since its opening, the hotel has already hosted several key conferences for companies such as Bayer and McCann Erickson Malaysia. L’oreal Malaysia, WCT Holdings and DKSH Malaysia have held exhibitions at its premises.
In fact, it already has a steady stream of events scheduled in its calendar for the upcoming months.
Excellence in hospitality
The hotel also subscribes to a brand culture of “relationship hospitality”, which Mr Kishan explains as the “nurturing and building of strong and lasting relationships across fellow associates, guests, partners and communities”.
“The true components of our relationship hospitality are our principles of respect, passion, dedication, integrity, ownership, learning, a positive attitude and sense of service,” he says.
These principles are reflected in the hotel’s training and recruitment efforts to enable its staff to become true brand ambassadors, and as a result, better serve guests.
