Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer is resigning from company’s board of directors, Yahoo announced in a filing with the SEC on Monday.
The move will be in connection with Yahoo’s planned $4.8 billion merger with Verizon. Mayer will step down from the board after the deal closes, as will Yahoo cofounder David Filo and four other members of the board.
The resignations will reduce Yahoo’s board to 5 members and are “not due to any disagreement with the Company on any matter relating to the Company’s operations, policies or practices,” the filing says.
