The luxury hybrid you’ve been waiting for

The Mercedes-Benz E 350 e packs efficiency and performance into a sleek body

Luxury and efficiency come in an impressive package in the E 350 e saloon. The car, which Mercedes-Benz Malaysia launched in October, features plug-in hybrid technology combined with the sophistication, quality and performance that customers have come to expect from the brand.

The E 350 e blends power with efficiency. It boasts a total system output of 210kW (286hp) and a system torque of 550Nm, and goes from 0 to 100kmh in 6.2 seconds.

It can be driven for 33km in all-electric mode with one charge, and fuel consumption is as little as 2.1 litres per 100km.

With this set-up, the E 350 e achieves the performance of a sports car yet consumes less fuel than a small, compact-class car.

This is in line with the Mercedes-Benz’s Electric Intelligence ecosystem of products, services, technologies and innovations, which ranges from electric vehicles to wallboxes and charging services to home energy storage units.

The E 350 e, which is assembled in Malaysia, is equipped with features such as Air Body Control air suspension, which allows for a smooth ride regardless of terrain, with continuously adjustable damping.

The damping of each wheel is adapted to the driving situation and can be individually adjusted according to the driver’s preference.

The E 350 e Edition 60, with a limited production of 60 units, is a work of fine craftsmanship.

The car also features the Pre-Entry Climate Control system, which allows drivers to set the desired temperature for the vehicle’s interior prior to a journey by setting the departure time in advance.

The car will then automatically cool itself to that temperature, giving drivers and passengers a comfortable ride from the moment they enter the car.

“We are proud to present the locally produced E 350 e as a continuation of our hybrid-offensive supporting the government’s initiative in becoming an energy efficient vehicle (EEV) hub,” says Mr Mark Raine, vice-president of sales & marketing passenger cars at Mercedes-Benz Malaysia.

“With the launch of our newest technology, we underline our leadership position in the premium market and reach yet another milestone in superior hybrid technology, further creating benchmarks in innovation and future mobility.”

There are three variants of the E 350 e.

The AMG Line lends a commanding presence with its distinctive and striking design, with sleek and modern AMG body styling and 19-inch AMG five-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels.

It also boasts a dynamic sporty interior and the trademark AMG sports steering wheel.

The E 350 e combines power and efficiency in a deluxe body, boasting a total system output of 210 kW (286 hp).

The Exclusive Line takes on the classic Mercedes-Benz look and its interior shows off the luxury craftsmanship that the marque is known for.

High-grade materials such as Nappa leather upholstery are used and features include the Burmester surround sound system and a widescreen cockpit, with a 12.3-inch high-resolution display.

For those looking for the ultimate in luxury and exclusivity, there is one more variant of the car.

Limited to only 60 units, E 350 e Edition 60 has premium features including 19-inch, six-spoke light alloy wheels, Exclusive Line interior with designo piano lacquer in black with flowing lines, designo two-tone macchiato beige and saddle brown interior, key in high-gloss white with ornamental surround in matt chrome, and the exclusive Edition 60 badge.
