Tony Fernandes denies retirement rumours, says AirAsia shares are worth RM6

AirAsia Bhd group CEO Tony Fernandes has denied that he is retiring, calling such rumours “laughable” in a Tweet on Wednesday (Dec 13) morning.

The airline’s co-founder also said that he believes the low-cost carrier’s shares are worth RM6.00, higher than its Tuesday closing of RM3.19 with 13.16 million shares traded.

“I told analysts we we were worth Rm3.00 when we were 0.70 cents. Now I say we are worth 6.00,” he wrote, adding that there was “no airline that has as much growth” as AirAsia.

“So not going anywhere. Exciting times ahead,” the recently-married business leader wrote.
