Uber is reportedly moving its New York City headquarters into a new office at 3 World Trade Center

Uber is reportedly close to signing a lease for office space at 3 World Trade Center for its New York headquarters, according to Crain’s New York.

The lease between Uber and 3 World Trade Center’s landlords, Silverstein Properties, includes seven floors measured at 308,000 square feet, with the option to expand to an eighth floor that would bring the square footage up to 350,000, according to the report.

The report doesn’t include a possible price for the lease, but mentions that rents for the property range in the high $80s per square foot.

Uber will move in sometime next year, Crain’s reports.

Uber did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider.

The company currently has offices in Chelsea and 1400 Broadway in New York, and the move would consolidate those offices into the 3 World Trade Center location.

But new headquarters in New York wouldn’t be the only office move Uber has in the works. The company recently signed deals for huge new offices in Chicago and Dallas. In Chicago, Uber will move into half a million square feet in the city’s old Post Office building. And in Dallas, Uber’s new office will be capable of supporting up to 3,000 workers.

News of Uber’s real estate plans comes after the company fired more than 400 employees from its product and engineering teams in the second round of layoffs this year.
