Visa launches new mobile app providing top customers in Malaysia with real-time concierge services

Payments provider Visa has launched a concierge mobile app to provide concierge services to its most affluent cardholders in Malaysia.

The app is a first in Malaysia, and will allow eligible cardholders to engage Visa’s concierge without having to dial a hotline or type out an email.

According to Visa, the new app “offers a real-time channel for affluent consumers to arrange for services such as hotel, flight and restaurant reservations, event ticket purchases or other enquiries”.

A live-chat function will also connect cardholders to a customer service representative directly for personalised and bespoke requests.

“With the introduction of on-demand apps in the market, where Malaysians become accustomed to ordering and purchasing a product or service on the go, they are used to a high level of speed and efficiency,” Ng Kong Boon, Visa country manager for Malaysia said.

He also said Visa is expecting to see more affluent Malaysians use mobile app technologies to make concierge requests in future.

According to Visa, 40 per cent of the requests made to its concierge historically were travel-related, while dining-related requests were second most popular at 21 per cent.
